CALLISTEMON rugulosus

Description:Common name: Bottle Brush. An evergreen hardy shrub with very rigid, lanceolate, bright-green leaves. It produces very unusual, cylindrical spikes of red flowers several times in a particular season, generally in May, July and September

Uses: Can be pot grown and stood outside in summer, then moved indoors in winter

Climate/Position: Hardy to ?2 degrees C, but better if kept frost free

Height/Spread: Up to 4 metres as a shrub

Soil Requirements: Grow in moist but well-drained, neutral to acid soil in full sun

Pruning: Grown as a half standard prune to shape in autumn. Remove flowers as they fade
