LIGUSTRUM lucidum 'Excelsum Superbum'

Description:Common name: Chinese Privet. Evergreen shrub or tree. A striking variegated form with yellow edging and blotches. White flowers in late summer, followed by black fruits

Uses: Untrimmed as a street tree, or trimmed as a Topiary specimen

Climate/Position: Plant in full sun, avoid frost pockets as the leaves can get damaged on the margins

Height/Spread: Untrimmed up to 6 metres

Soil Requirements: Will grow in most soils, avoid waterlogged areas. Do not plant too deeply

Pruning: Usually grafted so be aware of suckers and unwanted branches on the main stem

Special Requirements: Harmful if eaten

Additional Interest: In very cold winters it will lose some leaves
