Description: Common name: Oregon grape 'Soft Caress'. Compact mound forming evergreen shrub. The leaves have long lance shaped leaflets. Bright yellow fragrant flowers in late autumn onwards

Uses: Great for autumn and winter interest in the border

Climate/Position: Sun or part shade

Height/Spread: 100cm x 100cm

Soil Requirements: Fertile, moist well-drained soil

Pruning: Trim off the old flowering stems in spring, and every second year prune back main stems to a growing point to maintain bushiness

Special Requirements: The flowers appear in autumn and winter, providing a valuable late food source for many insects
