Description: Common name: Oregon Grape. An upright, evergreen shrub with dark green, lance-shaped leaflets. Racemes of fragrant yellow flowers in winter followed by blue-black berries

Uses: Grows well in shade. Berries attractive to wildlife

Climate/Position: Will grow in sun, through to shade

Height/Spread: Compact habit to 1.5 metres

Soil Requirements: Best grown in fertile, free draining soils. Mulch in autumn

Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Remove faded flowers

Special Requirements: Feed with a high nitrogen fertilizer
