Description: A compact and slow growing evergreen shrub with rounded dark green leaves, and new shoots of a fire-red colour

Uses: Trimmed to add formality to the garden

Climate/Position: Sun to light shade

Height/Spread: Will not increase in height, but will get bigger overall in time

Soil Requirements: Happy in most soils, not waterlogged

Pruning: Trim annually with topiary shears in early or late summer to keep specimen in shape. Suckers and unwanted branches can also be removed from the stems

Special Requirements: Topiary can suffer from Pests & Diseases. Look out for any tell-tale signs such as damaged leaves, adult moths, caterpillars, sooty mould etc., and treat appropriately
