Description: A new variegated introduction of the popular evergreen shrub. The new foliage emerges a rich bright pink softening to blue-green with creamy white splashes of variegation and a pink edge so is very eye catching. Small white flowers in mid to late spring
Uses: Grown as a hedge on a leg, pleached, or as a statement plant in a formal setting
Climate/Position: Full sun or partial shade. Some shelter advisable to avoid young shoots being scorched by late frost
Height/Spread: Will not increase in height, but will get bigger over time
Soil Requirements: Any soil but must be well drained
Pruning: Train new growth in to the framework, when there are no gaps in the frame then trim annually with topiary shears or hedge-cutters in early or late summer to keep specimen in shape
Special Requirements: Avoid exposed sites as easterly winds can damage the young growth in spring
Additional Interest: Topiary can suffer from Pests & Diseases. Look out for any tell-tale signs such as damaged leaves, adult moths, caterpillars, sooty mould etc., and treat appropriately
