Description: Common name: Cherry Laurel ?Genolia?. An evergreen shrub with a more upright and narrow habit than Prunus laurocerasus. Less need for pruning. Great for hedging. More tolerant of cold weather

Uses: Ideal for hedging

Climate/Position: Plant in full sun or shade

Height/Spread: 3 metres, will grow 60cm per year

Soil Requirements: Deep, fertile soils, not waterlogged. Mulch each year to help retain moisture

Pruning: Do not prune too early, or too late in the season. New growth must have a chance to harden up before cold weather. Avoid pruning with hedge cutters as they cut the leaves, use secateurs instead

Special Requirements: Seed kernels harmful if eaten
