Prunus armeniaca 'Garden Aprigold' (APRICOT)

Description: Common name: Prunus armeniaca 'Garden Aprigold' (APRICOT). Naturally compact habit, so great for patio and small gardens. The fruits are full sized, golden yellow skinned, with sweet flesh. Ideal to grow in a pot, move near a south facing wall

Uses: Dessert Apricot, delicate pale pink blossoms in spring

Climate/Position: Can be pot grown, place in full sun in summer. Protect from frost especially during flowering

Height/Spread: Dwarf variety, will typically grow to 1.2 metres high

Soil Requirements: If grown in pots do not allow them to dry out

Pruning: Only prune in early summer, or after picking. If no fruit do not prune

Special Requirements: Self fertile so fruit will be produced even if no other Apricots are nearby

Additional Interest: Bacterial Canker can be a problem in prolonged wet weather
