Description: Common name: Plum ?Quetsche d?Alsace'. A very old variety known as German Prunes. A small plum with a distinctive oval shape, blue black skin, with golden yellow flesh. Slow to come into cropping

Uses: Eating and cooking in Plum Tarts

Climate/Position: Full sun to light shade. Sheltered from winds. Good frost resistance

Height/Spread: Approx tree height 3-4 metres, depends on rootstock

Soil Requirements: Rich, deep soils, but not on limestone

Pruning: Little or no pruning required, only prune in summer

Special Requirements: Self-fertile

Additional Interest: Can be dried and eaten as a Prune
