Uses: Grow over pergola, or on a trellis, or on wires up a wall
Climate/Position: Full sun to dappled shade
Height/Spread: 6 metres, spread 5 metres
Soil Requirements: Fertile soil with a good root run. If planting against a house wall, angle the plant towards the wall, so roots are out of the rain shadow
Pruning: After flowering prune all long shoots back to 5 or 6 buds, then in winter, prune them back to 2 or 3 buds from the stem
Special Requirements: Harmful if eaten
